Many feared when Lord of the Rings was made into a MMORPG that the world Tolkein created would have been lost or at least be a watered-down version of his vision. But the game has gotten great reviews in newspapers such as the New York Times, USAToday, and TechNewsWorld. Even though the game was just released in late April, it has gotten many compliments about sticking with the original storyline and allowing players to experience Middle Earth without losing the intimacy that Tolkein was able to share with his readers. Players will be able to build characters through combat, finding important items, and making their way from town to town meeting other online players and computer animated friends and foes. Throughout this game, players will feel like they are contributing to the game instead of just playing it. To make the game even more intimate, LOTRO now has a MySpace page where players can communicate with each other and add a special widget to their own web site that will feature video, wallpaper, and screenshots. Since the game is brand new, no one knows how far characters can go and what they are capable of. Players will have to just play the game and learn more for themselves. Visit Bilbo Baggins, meet Aragorn at the Inn of the Prancing Pony just like in the book, and follow a storyline that is very close to the novel. Players will not be disappointed by the wonderful graphics, interaction, and continuing storyline as they make their way through Middle Earth. Visit pobobo.com for more information about LOTRO.
