Star Wars Galaxies, also known by many gamers as SWG is one of those games that really only comes along once in a lifetime. This is a game that crosses generational barriers. It appeals to people of my generation because the movies were not only a vital part of our childhood but the beginning, really of a whole new universe to explore. For our children, Star Wars is something we can share them. Common ground if you would.

SWG has brought an entire culture together with one common bond. The characters we all grew up with. Whether you choose to be on the light side or the dark side of the force is entirely up to you, but this society has been created online in order to enjoy the love of this world that George Lucas created a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away from these characters which have been an important part of American culture for the last thirty years.

If you haven’t checked it out, SWG offers a free trial; of course that free trial is just long enough to get you hooked. Once you’ve played a few times, you will want to share this with your family and friends (SWG makes a great gift as does pre-paid time). Keep in mind when you are playing that it is a game and make time for your friends and family outside of the Star Wars Galaxy so that they won’t harbor resentment and ill will towards the game. SWG is an escape from reality not an alternate reality.
